Competition Rules

Hi guys,

Just some rules for the competition.

* you are allowed to enter multiple locos in the competition if desired, however they'll be judged individually
* you can weather the locos if desired
* models must be completely painted. However, decals need not be applied (I'm not sure where to get CFCLA decals suitable for a VL class)
* models must be fitted to a mechanism
* photos on layouts or against a neutral background work well guys
* the judges decision is final. By the way, I'm the judge

I think this should cover most of it. Prize is one loco shell kit, to your preference, from either the planned BRM, VL or CM classes, as they become available (choose once you win the competition, and I'll get the shells made to your preference). This could be an easy way to make a start on the Newstan job, or what about Qube in Victoria? The possibilities are endless now.

I look forward to your entries. Do not forget to tag my personal account (Shane Morris) in the photo of the entry.

Many thanks guys!

Imminent release of BRM bodyshell kit, some delays

Hi guys,

So it's the silly season, and we're just waiting back from our modeller to present us with the final "Bought in Beta" model of the BRM class, suitable for an Athearn SD40 mechanism. Until I get reports that the model does indeed fit and assemble well, I'll leave the model as "Bought in Beta." I do watch the Facebook various groups I have advertised the BRM and VL models on, simply tagging me (Shane Morris) will bring it to my attention if there are any issues.

I'm thinking I might run a little competition. For the person I judge to have assembled and painted the model the best, as seen on Facebook groups where my models are advertised, they receive their choice of either model (a buy one, get one free), including from the upcoming CM/ CBH class, which I intend on releasing hot on the heels of the BRM and VL, after about a month or so. I look forward to your entries! If you wish to weather, that's ok too! Let's see some grime people! Remember to tag me in your entry.

Just as a mention, I have been told a number of times now that Signs of All Kinds stock the Consolidated Rail Leasing decals suitable for the BRM. I myself hope to stock some decals in future. The BRM decals are available (at the least) through Joe at Casula Hobbies. If you do order through Joe, say "G'day" to him for me please!

Links will be forthcoming through this blog page and the Facebook groups. Stay tuned!
